My name is Anna B and I am a Paramedic on the east coast of Australia. I did my training through the university system, as is becoming increasingly common, and I have finished my first year with the state's service in a Graduate Paramedic role, now practicing as an Advanced Care Paramedic.
I have a few favourite things. None of which are brown paper bags or kittens. I quite like sparkles, for instance. Keeping fit, eating good food and downing too much coffee also feature quite high on my favourites list. I also enjoy driving too fast on the wrong side of the road...but being a paramedic is about much more than that.
I have a need to know things which can be overwhelming at times when working as a paramedic; there is a constant barrage of THINGS to know. And many times they're things you have studied once or twice but can't quite remember...
I see paramedics that have long ago finished their exams slip into complacency, so while I hope this blog is informative for the student/new/established paramedic, it has been created predominantly so I can keep my knowledge up now I am (mostly) free of compulsory exams and mandatory clinical reflections.
